Volleyball Random

Volleyball Random (also called Volley Random) is the RHM Interactive ragdoll volleyball game from the Random sports series. You cover one side of the net with a single jump button. Send the ball onto the other side so it hits the ground there before it hits yours. First to five points wins the match.

After each point, the scene can change. Courts move between gyms, beaches, and other odd stages. The ball can get bigger, heavier, or swap into something stranger. Your characters may shrink, grow, gain longer arms, or turn into floppy ragdolls. Jump height and bounce timing change with them, so the same press that won the last point can miss the next one.

Watch the clip above for a normal rally, then press Play on the embed. Choose 1 Player or 2 Player, and use the first few points to learn when to jump before you push for five.

3. Score on their side and adapt after each point

Score when the ball hits the ground on the opponent's side. Keep it from landing on yours. After each point, the court, ball, or characters can change. Take one clean jump to feel the new timing, then go for stronger hits.

Why Volleyball Random only uses one button

Most volleyball games give you movement keys, dive buttons, and shot choices. Volleyball Random does not. Each side controls two characters with one jump key. When you press it, both hop, and contact with the ball is what sends it back over the net. Jump too early and you land before the ball arrives. Jump too late and the ball hits your floor.

You cannot steer the players left or right. Skill is timing and reading the ball path. Watch where the ball will land, not where it is right now. Stay near the middle of your side when you can, so short tips and deep balls are both reachable. A safe return that barely clears the net often beats a wild spike, especially after the ball gets heavier or your characters shrink.

What changes after each point

Like Soccer Random and Basket Random, each scored point can load a new setup. A gym can become a beach or another odd court. The ball may grow, get heavier, or turn into something like a football. Characters can become tiny, giant, long-armed, or extra floppy, which changes jump height and how late you can still make contact.

Treat every new point as a fresh timing test. If the body looks different, try one light jump before you go for power. In floaty physics, hit a bit earlier so the ball stays lower. With small characters, stay closer to the net because the jump window is shorter. Keep your eyes on the ball while it is in play; the funny looks matter after the rally ends.

1 Player, local 2 Player, and this browser embed

1 Player is the clean way to learn jump timing against the computer. 2 Player puts two people on the same device, W versus Up Arrow, for short first-to-five matches. This page hosts the HTML5 browser embed. There is no online matchmaking here.

Use the video to see how a rally looks when both sides time clean hits, then play a few short matches until you stop jumping the instant the ball crosses the net. Once that habit is gone, the random courts become part of the challenge instead of a distraction.

FAQs about Volleyball Random

Volleyball Random (Volley Random) was made by RHM Interactive, the studio behind Soccer Random, Basket Random, Boxing Random, and other Random sports titles. The HTML5 browser version released in February 2021.
Player 1 (red) uses W to jump and hit. Player 2 (blue) uses the Up Arrow. On phones and tablets, tap your side of the screen. You cannot move left or right with extra keys; jump timing is the whole control scheme.
Be the first to score five points. You get a point when the ball lands on the opponent's side of the court. Matches are short, so one early or late jump can decide the result.
Yes. Choose 2 Player on the same device. One person uses W, the other uses the Up Arrow. You can also play 1 Player against the computer.
That is the Random series design. After a point is scored, the court, ball, physics, or character shapes can change. You have to relearn the jump timing instead of repeating one memorized press.
