Basketball Legends

Basketball Legends is a 2D arcade basketball game where you play as cartoon, big-headed versions of famous NBA-style stars in fast 1v1 or 2v2 matches. The goal is simple: score more points than your opponent before time runs out. You dribble, shoot, block, steal, and use a power bar to unleash super shots that are nearly impossible to stop.

The game is made by MadPuffers and has been updated over the years (e.g. Basketball Legends 2020, 2024) while keeping the same core: quick matches, simple controls, and a roster of characters each with a unique ability. Move your player with WASD or the arrow keys, shoot or attempt a steal with B (Player 1) or K (Player 2), and use S or Down to block or pump fake. Your power bar fills as you score, block, and steal; when it is full, press V or L to fire a super shot. Shots inside the three-point line count for two points, outside for three. On defense, stay between the ball and your basket, time your jumps to block shots, and avoid chasing the ball everywhere—good positioning often beats raw speed. Use pump fakes to make defenders jump, then drive or shoot when the lane is open. In 2v2, passing to an open teammate leads to easy layups and alley-oops. Training mode is ideal for learning movement, shot timing, and each character’s ability without pressure.

Quick Match: Jump into a single game against the CPU or a friend. Perfect when you only have a few minutes.

Tournament: Work through a bracket of teams. You must win every round to lift the trophy; one loss ends your run. Good for testing your skills and consistency.

Training: Practice with no strict time limit and minimal pressure. Use it to get used to movement, shot power, and each legend’s special move.

2-player: Two people on one keyboard. You can play against each other or team up in 2v2 (or 2v2 vs CPU) for co-op or versus action.

Every character has one of three abilities. Mega Dunk makes close-range dunks very strong and hard to block, ideal for aggressive scorers. Fast Break gives a big speed boost so you can outrun defenders for layups or race back on defense. Defense improves blocking and stealing, turning your character into a lockdown option. In 2v2, pairing a defensive star with a Mega Dunk or Fast Break partner often works well.

The game includes multiple teams with rosters inspired by real NBA cities and stars. Each team has several players to choose from, so you can find a style that fits you—whether you prefer power dunks, speed, or shutting down the other side.
